Our Story
RAM BOXERS began with a search of our own — and how hard it was. When our family went looking for a quality Boxer, we learned that getting one as a regular family could be remarkably difficult: the truly well-bred dogs seemed reserved for show people, and families were left to settle for whatever they could find. We never accepted that. A family dog should never be a lesser dog.
The devotion runs a generation deep — our mother grew up alongside a Boxer from Dallas's esteemed Ra-Ra-Me Kennels in the 1960s, and that dog set the standard we still chase. Founded in 2007 by twin brothers Robert and Ryan Millsaps, RAM BOXERS exists so that families, not just show homes, can have a truly quality Boxer. Along the way we became show breeders and exhibitors ourselves — but the philosophy has never changed: family first, show dogs second.
What we live for is the health and overall quality of the breed — and the longevity of our lines. No pairing here is an impulse: each breeding is planned years in advance, the result of decades spent researching bloodlines and searching worldwide for the finest the breed has to offer. Through Transcervical Insemination (TCI) we can reach rare and historic champion bloodlines — sometimes from great dogs long gone, or from breeders across the globe — preserving correct breed type, sound structure, stable temperament, and long-term health. Modern DNA technology guides every pairing, doing our best to rule out Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) and ARVC before a litter is ever planned.
And we have never accepted the lifespan too many people quote for this breed. Seven to eight years is treated as normal for a Boxer — we refuse to accept it. Bred correctly, and raised on quality, nutritious food, a Boxer can far outlast that span. That conviction shapes this program: we have deliberately sought out generational lines, and bred with lines whose sires lived to fifteen years old. This is more than a breeding program — it is a life passion. We cannot imagine life without a Boxer. To us, they are the most precious breed there is.
We do not produce high-volume litters. Deposits are accepted only after a pregnancy is confirmed, and families are matched to puppies by temperament and fit — never first-come. As exhibitors, we reserve first picks of each litter to evaluate show prospects — but every puppy in that litter was bred, raised, and placed as a family dog first.

Our Mission
“We believe in the principles of improving the Boxer breed through health testing and compassion. With animal and human interaction, the breed thrives — and therein lies the framework for RAM BOXERS.”
RAM BOXERS is based in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, where our dogs are raised in our home and our family has kept Boxers since the 1990s. Texas is home — and the starting point for puppies placed with families across the United States. For local searchers looking for a Boxer breeder in Dallas–Fort Worth, we welcome visits by appointment once a litter is on the ground.
Health & Standards
Health testing is not a marketing line at RAM BOXERS; it is the framework of the program. We follow — and often exceed — the American Boxer Club's health testing guidelines for every sire and dam, because the Boxer's long-term soundness is decided before a litter is ever bred.
Full thyroid panels screen breeding dogs for autoimmune thyroiditis and hypothyroidism — conditions that quietly affect energy, coat, weight, and fertility across the breed.
Subaortic stenosis is one of the Boxer's most serious inherited heart conditions. Our dogs are screened by auscultation and/or echocardiogram before breeding.
DNA testing for Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) and Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) informs every pairing — using modern genetics to do our best to rule out both conditions, managing risk by knowledge, not hope.
We own our own Holter monitor, allowing regular, rigorous 24-hour cardiac rhythm screening of our breeding dogs — not a one-time checkbox, but an ongoing record.

Bringing home a RAM BOXERS puppy is a considered process, built around one goal: the right puppy in the right home, for life. Here is how it works, from first application to lifelong support.
Complete the Puppy Application — it tells us about your lifestyle, experience, and expectations. Because we breed selectively, refresh your application every six months to keep it current.
Once a pregnancy is confirmed, we review applications and contact the families whose profiles best match the litter's anticipated temperament and needs.
Only then are selected families invited to place a non-refundable 50% deposit. The balance is due one week before pickup. Puppies are matched by sex and base color — fawn or brindle.
Puppies go home with a health certificate, vaccination record, lineage folder, starter food, and a blanket carrying the litter's scent — plus a breeder who answers the phone for the life of your dog.
In the Ring
Weekends at RAM BOXERS are spent where the breed is measured — in the AKC show ring, under judges who know the Boxer standard by heart.

Breed Authority
Square-built, chiseled, and endlessly devoted, the Boxer was developed as a guard, working, and companion dog — elegance blended with power. Males stand 23–25 inches, females 21½–23½, in fawn or brindle with a short, smooth coat. But a standard on paper is only the beginning. Our breed guide covers what living with a Boxer actually means, written from decades inside the breed.
